marasy's Piano monkeys is coming to vinyl

An acclaimed album from the digital generation arrives in physical form this summer

Pianist and composer marasy's original solo piano album,

Piano monkeys, released in November 2024, will receive a vinyl edition. It is scheduled for release this summer as a limited edition.

This is his fifth original solo piano album and his first in approximately four years, following Shinonome (2020).

The album features solo piano arrangements primarily of VOCALOID songs and music written for television, radio, and commercials between 2020 and 2024. Every track was recorded live on a full concert grand piano.

The track list includes solo piano versions of some of his most notable recent VOCALOID songs: "Shinjinrui," which took first place in the Niconico-organized "Bocacolle Spring 2023 TOP100 Ranking"; "88☆彡," written for the smartphone game Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku; and "Eon Ticket," his contribution to Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE 18 Types/Songs.

The album also includes commissioned music closely connected with broadcast media, such as "Hometown," the ending theme for Tokai TV's Ogiyahagi Terrace; "cutover," written for a TerraSky Co., Ltd. television commercial; and "Fly day," the theme for Tokai Radio's Creators. Together, these tracks offer an overview of the breadth of marasy's work.

All 17 tracks feature grand piano performances by marasy himself.

A defining feature of the album is its complete capture of the live acoustic sound and atmosphere, from delicate touches to dynamic expression.

For marasy, whose work centers on video uploads and streaming and has amassed 900 million total views and 2.05 million YouTube subscribers, releasing this album on vinyl represents a new challenge.

By presenting sound as an experience listeners can own, this pianist from the digital-native generation offers a new way to engage with music.
